From Rags to... Better Rags
For many of us when it comes to finances and the Lords’ work we think however will enough money come in to finish the Lords work.
But rarely do we think what more can I do to help sacrifice for my Lord and raise more finances to save souls in the Kingdom of heaven.
If Christ could have this attitude:- "Jesus did not count heaven a place to be desired while we were lost." DA416 then how much more can we do for our Lord?
Since Advent Books was started people have looked at personally how they can sacrifice for our Saviour in a practical way.

Yard Sale/Car Boot |
In some countries people have yard sales when they move or to raise some extra finances. But here in England we will got to a field where lots of people will take their cars to sell their items and many people will drive there just to buy the second hand goods.
In the first few years when Advent Books started we went to 2 car boot sales to try and raise extra finances. We dug out bikes, kitchenware, tools, toys even boat paddles all to try and bring money in for God. The first time we did it we were able to raise £80 or $140 – Praise God for this.

A little Girl & China Dolls |

Shortly after the Second World War a little girl called Susan was given by her Grandma 2 special dolls, these were made out of china. With a special china face, hands and feet. Unknown to Susan in the 1940’s these dolls would play a special part in finishing Gods work.
Yes you guessed it, just a few years ago Susan now a “little” older decided that although the dolls had nice memories they were serving no purpose in telling others of Christ’s soon return. So Susan took these dolls to the antique store where the dolls were bought and £230 was raised for the Lord’s work.
What can you do for our Lord. Do you have dolls or antiques which can be sold and the money given to God.

We may have many things around our homes which are surplus to requirements, maybe electrical equipment, furniture, vases or even a second car. But in this example someone turned their retired equipment into money for God.
A Gardener who believed in the work of Advent Books decided that his redundant lawn mowers and rotatiller were no longer needed and now was the time to sell them for God’s work.
Several newspaper adverts and ebay adverts were placed and after selling several pieces of equipment over £1000 or $1400 was raised.
You May think you can’t help God but look around everybody can do something.
What can you do?
We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to donate to this work Advent Books is doing in the United Kingdom.
What can you donate for God. Do you have small items which can be sold and put into the Lord’s work. I know some people have larger items like a second car or maybe a second home or a holiday apartment, can we take these to the kingdom of God – No but we can use them to hasten His coming.
Now is the time to use what we have for God. One day very soon our wealth our materialistic things we have will be of no value so lets transform these into souls for our Lord.
